I have never seen any other HF in the fish store-- he was just Dying in the BOO BOO tank And I asked what he was. They said he was almost dead and did I want to try to revive him.
If I see another I will get one for sure ...

10 gallon tank- it's too small for him I know but he is a rescue and I have no other place to put it.
he would fight with my N Corica in the 20 gallon, plus I can't catch the bum.
1 female betta lives in there. hopefully maybe another couple of glo light tetras to replace the 2 that died.

he no longer hides in the gravel.

dying N Corica
About 2 -3 months ago I had an outbreak of hemorrhagic septicemia in my 20 gal tank after introducing a pair of gold gourami's. In total 6 of my 'old' fish died as well as the gourami's. i believe they also had internal parasites d/t seeing white poo.
I also lost 1 N corica just before this event ...

N. Corica in love?
sudden stormy weather shift yesterday and the fish were all hyper and nutty.
the guppies and tetras were heads together behind the java ferns and very excited about something. Presumably eggs or fry or maybe both.
The loaches who have divided the tank into 3rds were on top of each other. it looked ...

Ontario humane society does not consider fish or chicken for that matter to be worthy of protection. There are a lot of fish kept in horrendous conditions.Humane society say they have enough to do with furry animal abuse.
I make my mistakes too at home but I try to keep the fish happy and comfy.

Mike this is NOT what they had!
If you take the whole are on the belly from the front fins to almost the back bottom fins that is the size of the redness.
Those pics of yours look very much like a hole being burrowed out.
Mine is more like a massive red bruise but on both sides of the body.
Anyway I ...
