A friend has two clown loaches with velvet and asked what to do for them . I don't have any idea how to advise her to treat this. Advice please.

RTS and Botia Modesta look very similar just at a glance when they are small :) All of B.Modesta fins are red/orangish/yellowish colored and RTS only has the red caudal fin. Shape and body color can be very similar. Many LFS label RTS as loaches around here so you have to know what you're looking at...

Thanks so much for your response. We just don't see those here at all now someone has told me they may be able to get them for me. Do they need water movement? How much? caves, rocks plants? The Pangio they most remind me of is P.alternans , though I dont think that they are ? Nice Loach! Yep you were told right about the skunk Loaches They are the original"Brat Pack" . But in a species tank mine were really interesting and entertaining as they interacted with each other.

Botia Modesta are also an interesting larger loach although smaller than clowns.

The rasbora are cool, but thier ph requirements are a bit low for me to maintain. (I do have an R/O but preparing and storing any more than 10 gallons at a time has become very tedious.) I'm leaning toward zebra danios (for the moment...lol). Are danios good schoolers in a 55? My rasbora are on 7.6...
