I am running into the same problems... I have a 30G eclipse tank that has been running for about 2 years with 2clowns, 2kubatai, 2 gourami, a red tailed shark and one remaining zebra danio. I was not able to do a water change for some time, due somewhat to laziness but mostly to the fact that my RO/...

Mommas, i got mine from pet kingdom! They were either 5.99 or 6.99 each, and they had probably 20 of them 2 weeks ago, as well as about 5 horsefaces i believe, but i havent seen their freshwater stock in a while, as im delving into the marine aspect for the time being. Anyone who is paying 20.00 is ...

yeah, we have a 3000 gallon koi pond, head to aquatic warehouse for that sometimes, but is a bit far for me. I live near fountains, and have found the health of their freshwater stock to be much higher than that of Animal Kingdom. I have never seen a dead fish there, yet have seen a few at AK. Howev...

The cuteness to these fish astounds...

I got a pair of kubotai's two weeks ago, and they have been hiding most of the time since. I was starting to wonder about their compatability with the other fish in the tank, clowns, gouramii, red tailed shark, danios.... until tonight I have been away from the house quite a bit lately (setting up 1...

Yeap, the salt is a K.O. for ich. Glad things came out allright.... mebbe change only 10% of water each week for the next two, because you changed so much water right away... want to keep at least some elevated levels of salt for a while to ensure total(i know not total whoever decides to pick) ich ...

Well...i did post here a number of times that i recommended 1 tablespoon per gallon as a max, and you seem to have done 150% of this... i have heard this working without damage to loaches, but please NO MORE SALT heheh.

Ich is a parasite, leave it and it kills, kill it and it wont kill. nuff said.

Ich does not have to be seen to be infecting the organism. It can be in the lungs, doing damage, and not seen.

I do not recommend starting salt until all medication is removed(activated carbon reintroduced).

Once again, a DRAMATIC change in salinity will be the only effective way to kill with salt.

no, but it removes the active ingreds in most over the counter ich meds.

Salt only leaves through water changes

adding activated charcoal filter for a day should remove any remaining meds. In response to 1TBLSPN/per gallon being high, i myself thought this very thing, but have read elsewhere people using up to 2TBLSPN/gallon without incident! The trick to this treatment is the time period, adding this amount ...

I have had more woes from LFS ich remedies than from the ich itself in my tanks. I recommend a less popular avenue for treatment of ich: Hot dark salt water for 3 days. I know ppl will jump on the "loaches dont do well with salt" wagon, but in my experience (5-6 bouts with ich) this is the ONLY one ...
