Sad day for my loaches

I haven't been o n this forum for a long time. Because we are moving, I am selling my tank. This forced me to find new homes for my loaches. My 7 clown loaches were moved to the UNBC freshwater tank because I really didn't want them to be separated. It is a 135 gallon tank that has a few yoyo loache...

We are building a new home and will have temporary accommodation while doing so. I simply don't want to stress them to that extent, so I am hoping to find some loach enthusiast who wants to take them.

Have to find a new home for my loaches

I have been absent from the forum for a few years after using it to learn an immense amount about these wonderful fish. I have been a successful keeper of several species (clown loach, kubotai, zebra loach and kuhli loaches) largely thanks to the great advice I received from this forum. In the next ...

I had one clown that took several months to settle in. I'd be a bit concerned with the cichlids causing the clowns to stay back. My clowns eat pretty much anything. They do love zucchini, so you could try that (make sure you wash it well). I cut a piece and anchor it with a rubber band to a piece of...

Ghosting would be a good description. Does anybody know why they do it? It seems to happen at feeding time mostly.

Interesting kub behavior

I have one kub that likes to exhibit a sticking-like-s**t-to-a-blanket behaviors. It generally swims right next to a clown loach - size doesn't seem to intimidate it at all - or less commonly a zebra loach just behind the head, and then it's almost like it's attached. After a few seconds the 'victim...

FYI just saw that April (Pets Beautiful on Dunbar) now carries Levamisole.

Martin's picture files contain most of the info you would want to know about equipment and settings. You need an exif viewer. It's built into some browsers but I had to download one for use in Firefox. Right clicking on one of his shots gave me this info. The things you learn in this forum, eh! I h...

The first one (that started off 'see-through' is really neat. My kubs vary a lot, but that one is definitely different. Hopefully not a hybrid - wait for the experts to weigh in I guess. The second one looks like a typical Botia histrionica to my admittedly untrained eye (see http://www.loaches.com/...

I've never kept sids, but this sounds like pretty normal loach behavior. I doubt that either of them will come to harm. They are just establishing who is the boss.

Excellent as always. I can't seem to figure out how to get good photos with my SLR - easier with the point and shoot (Pentax Optio W60), What settings do you use, and do you use a flash?

Any injured fish will be targeted. Healthy fish should not have any problem. I think that any longfinned variety would essentially behave like an injured fish, and may be targeted as well.

I should also mention, my girlfriend has silvertip tetras and, if you aren't bothered about them not shoaling much, they're excellent fish. Just don't keep them with anything that might be susceptible to nipping. I had silvertips for a while, and I have never had a more aggressive tetra. The males ...
