Bristle Nose Difficulties.

Hi, I am having difficulties keeping bristlenoses alive. This is the only fish I have ever struggled with. I have bought these from different shops and kept them in different tanks with different fish. I always have wood and feed vegetable food. The only thing in comman is the water I use. I have pH...

RO Water - Minerals Required

Hi, I often see topics about the use of RO water here. I read that certain minerals need to be replaced. What I never hear about is what minerals need replacing and what levels are required for these minerals and how to measure these levels. I am considering using RO water for my clown loaches. I pr...

I know this is an old debate - Distinguishing between juvinile Botia. How can you differentiate between Histrionica and Emperor? I bought some Histrionica recently with an expensive price. We dont often get them here but they were twice the price of the Rostrata, Kubotai and Striata I have previousl...

No Way! I cant believe it. I am so sorry to hear about this. Marge was definately the greatest Clown Loach on Earth. Probably the greatest captive clown loach ever. It will be a long time before another clown is ever as advanced as Marge. Marge's success was due to the expert care and attention she ...

You can try asking your supplier where they came from.

To me they look like my B. Histrionica, B. Kubotai.

Thanks for the replys. I definately like to use powerheads in my loach tanks for circulation, and the use of a sponge over the intake is great for filtration and a way to stop fish getting sucked in! I was more interested in the opinions regarding the Biological filtration capacities of internal fil...

Internal Filters?

Hi Everybody!

I have been thinking about using an Internal Filter for the benefit of current, and with the added Venturi effect, the extra airation.

However, I am unsure how much Biological Filtration such a filter can provide.

Are these type of filters worth having in a loach tank??

Thanks.

Balas are pretty big but so are Tin foils. Does the same level of caution also apply to keeping Tin Foils??
