What I love about this is how even some of the smaller ones joined in, that is certainly a testament to the temperment of Clowns. All my smaller Yoyos seem to do is run from the larger one, but since I am still down to the three of them ( I need more loaches dammit :twisted: )!

Still no sign of the bugger! The others are making up for it by torturing the large one it seems. He has taken up residence underneath my large Driftwood and they seem to take it in turns invading his turf so the other can go and fish about for loose food in it.

do you have any dogs or cats or animals that might have eaten a fish if it jumped out and landed on the floor?

my advice for now is to remain calm and keep an eye out for the missing fellow during feeding.. for he who hides will come eat eventually

I do have cats but I have the lid on constantly ...

I just did my routine tank cleaning and now even after counting them I am missing a Yoyo! I have cleared out the tank and sifted through my substrate and gravel even took time to check every single crevasse I could find in my driftwood no luck I was up to 4 now back down to 3!!! My Rainbows seem to have a taste for them from time to time, I had a infestation before I happened to get my Yoyo's and between the Rainbows and a Bala that has since passed on the tank got quite deserted of Snails really quickly!

I suspect that my Pleco decided they were tasty as well I do ...

ya sorry we all know that loaches kick ass at eating snails...
what we ment was that buying a loach only because you want to get rid of snails is a bad idea.
we are all on the same page on this one
snails and loaches make me think of a old skateboard term and what ex front man from Black Flag ...

Could someone describe.

Some of the more erratic behaviors seen from their loaches. I am speaking in particular of Yoyos but just want some things to look for esp of Yoyo's and breeding behaviors.

The reason I ask is one of mine is quite plump just ahead of the anal fins and was rubbing its side in the sandy substrate ...

Does the Asian Arowana get to the same size as the Silver? I mean if I am not mistaken they get around 48in when fully grown correct!

Thanks to all for the advice I decided to go get two more Yoyos a few days ago and have seen them all over the place in the tank. The shop had a full grown one and another smaller one but until I get the larger tank it is just the ones I have for now. So far all is well in my tank the loaches only ...

thanks for the comments. i appreciate them. please feel free to use any picture you want. besides the loaches there are rummy nose tetras, odessa barbs, checkerboard barbs and australian rainbow fish.
