Re: My new 1000 liters clown loaches tank (page 22)

Hi Nancy, Plants are there, but most of them (Giant Anubia) are on the left side of the tank and feed place is at the right side, so most of the photos were taken on the right side. If you take a time to watch the movie bellow, at 1:45, you will see lots of plants: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZML...

Re: Clown Loach Growth Rate

I don't even like bright lit tanks myself. Well, well, well... You don´t like bright lit tanks, Clown loaches don´t like bright lit tanks... maybe it´s now time to make choices. There are lots of plant species that can do well in low light conditions, like Java fern, giant Anubias and so on....

Re: Clown Loach Growth Rate

But you still have bright lights in the tank and that is the possible explanation for their low activity during that period.

Re: Clown Loach Growth Rate

The tank lights are quite bright unfortunately, it's a planted tank . Clown loaches do not like much lights at all. That can be the answer to their behavior. Besides, they use to eat the plants or even unroot them just for fun. I would not have Clown loaches on a planted tank, especially if there i...

Looks like your parameters are ok, except for pH 7.4, but that is not a big deal as Clown Loaches can do fine in that pH.

Re: Clown Loach Growth Rate

I've only had mine for a lot less than a year but when these guys play, they love the height of the tank. Mine is extra high, over 65cm(25.6 inches) tall and my small clowns(the biggest 4") utilize the whole tank height when in play mode and not the lenght. I haven't seen them racing the tank lengh...

Re: My new 1000 liters clown loaches tank (page 22)

The clowns look like they've settled in quite nicely. It didn't sound like the sump made much noise with the waterfall. Is there something you did to quiet it down? I think I hear the pump more than anything. I´m using a ballhead register on pump to cut down waterflow to about half. If I let it ful...
