Yesterday I got one of my kuhli loaches to eat from my hand, something I didn't expect from them.
I saw one coming to the surface so I gently reach out my pinched fingers lowering some bloodworms to the water..To my surprise the kuhli came over and nibbled.

Sadly just after I post an all is well post...On of my loaches was found gasping for air again this morning. The loach seems on the thin side, breathing heavily and otherwise no signs of disease.
They all made it so far so I thought they were out of the wood by now and going to survive.

I had an accident when I moved them a while back.. One was hiding in the plant roots and fell on the floor.

So I had this tiny kuhli writhing on the floor. I tossed on some water so the kuhli would be sitting in a puddle..Then I didn't know what to do.
Too small for me to grasp...teh rim of a net ...

Looks like I might make a last ninute descion o to a wedding.. When I still said I still wasn't going, my mom says WHAT?!!. So maybe I will go after all...it will be a week. I'm thinking that now I'll just have kuhlis and shrimp and one betta in the tank. Does anyone have opinions on just one betta? The kuhlis seem so much more active now that the danios are gone. I'd hate to mess that up.

Ok...But I'm expecting another inspection some time next week and supposed to only have one tank setup with fish. They havn't seen the thirty gal yet so crossing my fingers and I'd be way too nervious to setup a third tank. So maybe I'll transfer them to a new tank after inspection is over.

Ok...Got three new loaches, but figured if I release them into the tank I intended for quarantine..I'll lose track of them again. Both of my tanks are planted.

So change of plans. So I'm thinking I'll keep them in a two gal tank/ float that in the twenty gal with an airstone and then release them ...

When you say heavily planted, do you mean really heavily planted? If so, do you run some means of oxygenation (air pump etc) for the fish overnight?
