~30 minute drive from old place to new. 75g tank + 20g planted. 75g definitely will need to be emptied - some rather large driftwood etc in there. I have 2 eheim 2028 filters - can I just disconnect and transport as-is? (w/the valves closed water shouldn't escape from these!) Or do I need to dump th...

Moving fish - rubbermaid?
When moving fish what do you all think of large rubbermade bins? I could fill 4 of these with maybe 15 gallons of water and that would be perfect for transporting all my fish and enough of my existing water for them to not be super-shocked at the new place. Something like this: http://www.rubbermaid...

Martins reply is what I was expecting to have to do. A big bucket, a pump, and some tubing. I feel most confident with pre-mixing the water in this way, but the simplicity of adding water directly to the tank just seems fantastic!!! Shari, I'm moving to Manchester, CT. There is no "water company." I...

Water changes? :\
My current residence has well water. It is pristine. I don't need to add any dechlorinator etc. I just hook my python up to the sink, empty, and refill. Very simple. I am moving in a couple of weeks. The new place has city water. 20ppm nitrate straight out of the tap! wohoo! (the poor loaches, I hop...

I realize the benefits. I just wish there was a way to do it without needing 2 inlet tubes and 2 spraybars. One reason I want to do this now is that I'll be moving on June 1st. And so, I'd like to have an extra filter ready to go for co-location purposes. In other words, I haven't quite figured out ...
