Clown with other types

Posting for my mother in law. She has a single Clown loach in her tank. After seeing this site, I suggested to her that they do better in groups of 3 or more. She's going to get two more, but she has a question, do the other two have to be Clown loaches, or will their single clown buddy up with diff...
