Nice fish! As with many of the botia-type loaches, the pattern changes as they mature, so maybe you will know more in a few months.

Sewellia marmorata fry!!!
Yesterday, while feeding my S. marmorata, I noticed fry in the tank!!
I saw three yesterday and one much smaller one this morning so I think there are at least 4. I hope this is just the beginning.

Hillstreams are often mislabeled in the trade so you never know what you are going to end up with.

Re: panda loach(goby) [Protomyzon pachychilus]
I have often wondered if the temperature wasn't a limiting factor for some of the hillstreams, particularly the Chinese species. I do not get the spawning from the chenis I now have compared to years ago when my tanks were a few degrees cooler. Two or three years ago I ran across some Crossostoma la...

Re: Borneo Hillstream Loach
I may have missed this in your post, but what species is the female you are talking about? Some species of hillstreams scatter their eggs (sewellia), and others bury them. I think the few reports of gastromyzon breeding indicate they either bury or hide eggs in a crevice or cave. This may explain wh...

Re: Sewellia marmorata fry
That's great news!
S. marmorata have become one of my favorites, if not my favorite, hillstream. Unfortunately, my group have not spawned.

Re: Has the forum considered Breeding Reports as a site func
That would be great if we had the people to do it. Unfortunately, many of the former moderators have moved on and the remaining ones (or one ) simply don't have to time for such an undertaking . Its a sad reality.

Re: Not sure which Hillstream loach I have & need care info
Congratulations on your find! I first found this species as a contaminant in a shipment of Sewellia lineolata. There was only one in the shipment so it took me many months to find another. Not long after I added the other fish, I started seeing fry all over the place. I have since given some away an...

Re: Anyone have Sewellia lineolata for sale?
I have never bought anything from the site but it was recommended by someone who got Psuedogastromyzon fasciatus from there. Ted had me speak on loaches at the Madison and Milwaukee clubs about 6 years ago.
