Thanks for the tip Directorate, but as I said, me using that name has nothing to do with the movie. Back on topic. I would still like to know if 8 B. histrionica combine well with 5 C. siamensis in my tank of 110cm x 45cm(depth) x 58cm(hight), 230 liters/60 gallons. Does anyone know? I know Mark Ja...

Yes both Loaches are good-but are they different in temperament and are'nt Kubotais generally more expensive than Rostratas? :/

I think Kubotais also have a bolder and more distinct pattern when mature :)

hi-Distinguishing between B. Rostratas and Kubotais.

Can someone give some guidelines about this distinguishing please. I don't really want to end up with Rostratas when I ask for Kubotais :/

I see.

Loach Species combinations

Hi again. At the moment I have 3 Kubotais and 1 yoyo, in a 130 gallon tank with I think-fairly good filtration (2Xpowerheads 1600L/hr max, and top filter with spray bar). Would it be too many loaches to keep say: 5 Kubotais, 3 yoyos, 7 clowns and 7 other miscellaneous Loaches roughly the size of yoy...

I just re read the emporer thread and they really do deserve their regal name. Directorate, as far as getting them into Australia, I doubt it. Not only does the species index mention mountain ranges and war zones, there is Australia's import restrictions. We are lucky that we have Kubotai's in a fe...

"Emperor" Loaches.

Good gravy. Now that is a cool fish for a loach. The subtle bronze/gold color on it is pretty cool. (I just saw it in a photo). It also seems to have a unique head. Along with Kubotais, they are surely amongst the most good lookin' loaches around. I probably couldn't get them though, seeing as I'm i...

loaches and feeding: kubotais

At the moment I feed my Kubotais frozen blood worms. I hear someone say they were "too rich" for these loaches. But I tried putting in cucumber in the tank, but they didn't touch it. Whats a good recommendation for feeding Kubotais? As well as clowns. Though more importantly Kubotais for now because...
