I think some Kuhlis would be OK in a 10g. Good tankmates would be danios - you can do Zebra Danios (cheap and hardy), the Glofish (just little neon-colored Danios) or my personal favorite, Pearl Danios. Well, better to rescue them than to let them sit there in die in disgusting conditions. At least I saved those specific fish.
