Re: Stunted clown loaches

Thanks - I will leave them a few weeks to make sure they are eating well and then move them over .

Stunted clown loaches

I recently rehomed 2 clown loaches who have been kept in a max 3ft tank for 8 - 9 years and possibly underfed too from reports but cannot be sure. They appear to be healthy and proportionate but are less than 5" long including tails. They originally had 4 loaches but the others had died over the yea...

Polka dot loaches

Hi I was wondering of anyone could help with the difference between my 2 shoals of polka dot loaches? I have had them all several years now and they no longer seem to grow. One lot have reached the standard 4-5" but the others are all smaller closer to 3-4" . All happy and healthy. Does anyone know ...

loaches for my large tank?

Hi, I currently have a bit of a problem with my filament barbs breeding quite prolifically. Even though the tank is 500 gallons I can't keep that many large fish. I think the eggs are scattered over plants and somehow survive. I am thinking that smallish loaches might be able to forage for the eggs....

New loaches healthy but skinny

Hi, I have recently got another 4 clown loaches to add to my current 7. They have been in a home aquarium for at least 18 months apparently without issue. They are probably just over 3 inches but quite skinny. They have good colour and normal activity. I am pretty sure they have been well fed previo...

Hi,
thanks for replying.
I have looked at the pictures but it is difficult to tell scale in many of them.

kuhli loaches body width

Hi, I have the striped kuhli loaches, black kuhli loaches and pangio anguilaris. I was wondering about the width and height their bodies get to. The black loaches are thick set but the others are much slimmer. Will they bulk up at all as they mature. They have reached almost their expected length. A...

Hi, The tank is 4ft long so they should have plenty of space - it is well established and water tests showed no spiking in ammonia or nitrite. All other fish are fine, just the guppies perished. They are about 3 inches at the moment but will go in my larger tank with medium to large size fish. Alison

new pakistani/ yo yos

Hi, I already have 3 of these so jumped at the chance to get 2 more recently(plus a zebra loach to join my sons shoal). When they arrived I put them in my temporary tank with my excess brisltenoses, some guppies and some platies. After a week or so I noticed the guppies were no more - 2 adult female...

Hi, yes I have loads of rocks, ornaments, wood, plastic plants. The tank is up against a brick wall in a conservatory type room out of direct sun. Natural daylight though. Also I have loads of current at the moment. I have 2 external filters , 2 internal and a pond pump. when my sump tank is up and ...

Hi everyone, I moved the filter onto the tank when they arrived, because the filter bacteria need food to stay alive. The filter was on quite a heavily stocked tank so no ammonia, no nitrite problems on the new tank. I have 9 clown loaches now and they have settled fine except they are not making mu...
