Re: Yasuhikotakia splendida colouration

Its certainly unusual Jim, I did see a photo of a large wild rostrata last year with a lot of red colouration and am wondering if this was a similar thing.

Neil they settled in lovely mate, not as much clicking as I expected but all 15 seem happy enough today :D

Thank you EmilyMarie :)

Yasuhikotakia splendida colouration

These two fish are part of my group of 15 Y. splendida, I had noticed a small bit of colouration on one of my group a while ago but nothing to this extent: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y60/MadDuff/Loaches/Y%20splendida/Splendida%20male/DSC_7952.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y60/MadDuff/Lo...

Re: My First Fish Show!

Nice tanks :D

My old club used to do something similar at a local agricultural show and the local library, these events were usually a month or so before our open show which gave us quite a bit of publicity and brought a few new people to the hobby.

Re: Emperor Botia

Its a fair point Mike, a lot more work needs doing for sure. I have photos of fish that I have bought as rostrata that have turned in to kubotai add to that the fact that very few people think that sidthimunki and nigrolineata shouldnt have been added to Yasuhikotakia, you are only stating what a he...

Re: Yasuhikotakia splendida spawned

Yeah it was the eyes that I first spotted Jim, I just assumed it was a mysis shrimp until I looked closer, I hope that were there is one there will be more, the way the adults go at food it would be months before anything felt safe enough to come out into open water :)

Yasuhikotakia splendida spawned

After finding the eggs in my Y. splendida tank everyone has been asking for photos of them and the confuzona, so this afternoon I went down the shed and took some photos, oh was I in for a surprise. This is the best pic I could get of the eggs in the pipe, I moved a cobble and you can just make out ...

Re: A very good loach day

I have tried a couple of photos Jim but because I am shooting at an angle to see down the side of the pipe I cant get anything clear enough There is no way of getting a pipe near enough to syphon them without moving rocks and as soon as I move rocks the pipes will move (bit like jenga lol) Cant even...

A very good loach day

As the title says it was a good day yesterday, first of all I finished stripping down the old river tank that housed by group of adult homaloptera confuzona, all the adult died a few months back all within weeks of each other (still don't know the cause as everything else was fine), well I now have ...
