Re: My loaches go absolutely bonkers for this (added Pics!)

All my fish enjoy the sinking carnivore pellets, but they like the Massivore Delite even more!

Re: guppies! they are baby making machines!

Female guppies have the ability to store sperm for several months, so they will likely continue to produce fry for some time after the males have been removed. You will need to find some solution though, as your young will quickly mature and the cycle will continue. This is one of the reasons many p...

Re: Puntius rhomboocellatus and Puntius pentazona

I kept my shoal successfully in pH 6.8 with a GH & KH of 3dKH. As they matured they became more shy but, they were beautifully coloured. I've moved the whole group onto somebody with a much bigger highly planted tank now. They became very nervous and were no longer useful as a dither fish as a resul...

Re: What is this critter??

I'm not 100% certain, as I don't have first-hand experience, but I believe it's a fish louse, Argulus.

Re: Clown loach with black freckles?

This has been asked occasionally in the past, here's three threads that come up from running a search on "Blackspot". The first post with the link in it is a very good thread but, it is very long!

There are definitely other very friendly fish forums out there, the two I have in mind are perhaps even more friendly than loaches.com! There's no denying the loach-specific knowledge that's available here surpasses all other forums though :)

As Diana says, don't use salt. I don't know of a planted tank enthusiast that uses salt in their aquascapes.

Using tank water to cycle a tank would be ineffective in cycling a tank. If you wished to speed the cycle along you would do better to use a proportion of your mature filter media, not the water :) If by Dwarf Puffer, you mean Carinotetraodon travancoricus then you could get away with 2-3 females an...

Many fishkeepers use pond dechlorinators for their aquariums. As Diana has mentioned, just ensure that the one you use is suitable for removing chlorine and chloramine.

The most cost effective dechlor. option for me has been Seachem Prime.

Some of the smaller Sids have grown a little but, the biggest one doesn't seem to have grown any further. She's 2.5" TL, I measured her when I did the head count :)

You won't regret getting a group, they are fun :)

I've never used carbon in my tanks. Carbon can become quickly exhausted if your tank has a particular set of variables. I think many manufacturers recommend changing it out every 4 weeks or so, very convenient if you sell carbon! In reality, again dependant upon any given tanks parameters, the carbo...
