The BioNitratEx is more for use in the filter of the tank, thats why it takes up to about 3 weeks to establish itself and its also why it can get a cloudy water which can be filtered out with Carbon. I had another read but i didnt see anything saying about Nitriet spikes.

Since my tapwater has 50mg/l nitrate i started with osmose water but since it still gave me 12,5 mg/l I decided to do another search.

After a lot of searching and trying, i found NitratEx from JBL. It removes up to 50 mg/l nitrate from 200 liters. And its rechargable.

They also have BioNitrateEx ...

If u really want to go on the safe side. Why not buy some of the internal filter sponges?

I know that some lfs with pond filter sell them in huge sizes.

My father in law has something similar for his pond, and we where thinking about how to create that for our fish tank. This is exactly telling how to.

It really tempts me to get the extra rekord i have out too for hillies. But i dont think my hubby would appreciate that.

Could it be difrent types of PVC pipes?

I have PVC pipes too in difrent sizes and both my pipes drift if i dont burry them or put rocks on it.

Not that my Clowns bother they deliberate move the smaller piece and then lay back in it while it takes turns floating. :lol:

The tank is a stunning beauty Dutch!

Have u tried feeding some Cucumber or Courgette? u can boil it for a few minutes so it sinks to the bottom or u can heavy it with a teaspoon so it can sink. U can also soak it in meds before u feed it.

My Clowns also love mussels, not the slimey ones but the boiled or baked ones.

In Holland it is difficult to get meds too (atleast the good meds)

If u cant get a dewormer trough a vet, i found a method with pumpkin seeds on a puffer forum when i was searching for alternatives for my puffer to deworm.
