Re: Growth rate experience for Clown loaches
I have seen similar topics on here before and find it odd that Clowns have such poor growth rates in general, my own experience is somewhat different. My loaches where bought 18 months a go and averaged 3/4" (2cms ish) all are now over 3" most are over 4 and the biggest pushing 5", I have just inher...

Re: Chromobotia macracanthus / Clown loach Questions
Youngsters can grow fast when they have been treated to kill internal parasites. I got some that were barely an inch, and treated them. They reached 2" (doubled in size, and a lot fatter) in less than a year. After that they slowed down. I have had them about 3 or 4 years and they are about 4"+ now...

(main ingredient is south antarctic krill meal) Both astaxanthin and canthaxanthin can also be found in natural feedstuffs, such as shrimp, krill,...

Can anybody let me know what is in these pellets please. I've had a look on the website but it just gives a nutritional break down. The reason I ask is because I have an interest in fish nutrition, in a former life I made specialist Carp and Barbel baits and have a pretty good understanding of what ...

Well the saga continues. Managed to get the cover glasses cut from another source, no questions asked as to usage, so no lies told.  my measuring was pretty damned accurate, bit of a phew moment cos there is less than a mm of clearance on the sides. Almost a cock-up   Collec...

How is this for a bit of madness.... I went into our local hardware shop today, to get a couple of cover glasses cut for the tank. I gave them the measurements and asked if they could take a corner off the sheets of glass, to allow access for heater wires etc. They asked why I needed the corner cutt...

Job change has gone very smoothly thus far thanks Helen. Less hours, much less stress (although I do need a bit to get me motivated) and more money. :D :D Did some work on the tank at the weekend, between family commitments and if I say so myself it's looking pretty damned good. I have picked up som...

Well. the tank has taken longer than expected to get up and running. The new job put paid to any additional spends on essential bits and bobs to get the job done. Did not expect to have to go 8 weeks between last employers pay cheque and new employers pay cheque. But normality has now returned and t...
