but the silicone wears of (or some such thing), no? I have glued plenty of rocks in my tank and some are fine but some are not actually glued / siliconed together anymore - so would silicone hold everything together long term? I do have the silicone here, too - so either is OK for me. :) I am going ...

tank set-up question
After a long search for quick filters, I finally have all my parts to set up my 'river tank' for my clowns. :D Bought the CPVC (for hot and cold water) and bought some of that PVC cleaner and cement stuff. - I bought the kind that says good for use on PVC and CPVC figuring it would be OK for water -...

Since they eat snails, I do not see why they couldn't eat that. I feed my clowns an assortment of frozen foods that I randomly buy (mysis shrimp, blood worms, brine shrimp, daphnia, beef heart, etc etc), shrimp pellets, algae wafers, lettuce, melons, beans, other random fruit and veggies - whatever ...

TDS
Just got my TDS meter. :D I am doing my WC in an hour or so... but I tested it just now. The TDS in my loach tank was 303. In my 10 gal. with a 2" fish it was 285 or something like that. Is that OK for Clowns? Or a bit on the high side. Should I test my tap (do I need to let it sit overnight, if I d...

I have 4 clowns out of 2 batches of 3... (I have 4 more in QT right now to add to the group)... the 2 that I don't have.....

:) yes - I think they changed the water as mine used to stay at 7.6 - 7.8, too. I will not complain, though! I do love all the loaches but think I will keep only one to this tank as it is not that big. Who knows what I will do with my 125 in the future? If things go according to plans and my clowns ...

oops.. sorry. misunderstanding. I only plan to have ONE of these species.. just can't decide which. So.. they only need to get on with each other and a pleco... :) Consistency is more important, I agree... and I do nothing to change my ph in my tanks, it is just because of the wood I have in there t...

Well - I really have no plans for other fish except maybe a pleco - so would aggression really be a problem? Would they bother a pleco? My clowns could care less about my plecos, and vice versa. I do see now that skunks lowest temp is 79* - so that may be pushing it for me in the winter, even with h...

Which loach?
I would like opinions about the best loach for the tank I am planning. My thoughts are Sids, Skunk or Kubotai. Information about tank to be... 65 gal - footprint is rather odd at 18" x 36". Will have dark sand substrate with lots of wood and some rocks. Would like some type of small pleco in there.....

My new clowns!
Just got 4 new baby clown loaches yesterday - I've been waiting for my LFS to get some in for MONTHS... now I have 8. These little guys are in QT - they are probably only an inch long. Makes me remember how small mine were - once! I've only had them maybe 6 months, too - but they've at least d...
