Ich is more dangerous than the treatments, which is why I always suggest a prophylactic ich treatment while the fish are in quarantine and still healthy. Yeah. I'm going to try that next time. Also, going to start using a net treatment bucket to prevent transfers between tanks. The most important t...

Heck, I'm going to have to do some reading. I thought the salt method was forbidden where loaches were concerned. Thanks again.

Thank you both. I'll try to remember about mixing in the future. The Jungle product says it works with all of its other meds but it seems to be a brand I see less and less. In fact, just finding the amounts I needed was hard. All the other Ick treatements I have ever found are not for scaleless fish...

Jungle Ick Guard II & Melafix

Through gross stupidity I have an Ick infection in my loach tank. Anyway, I am treating with Jungle Ick Guard II. Without thinking too hard about it I also dosed the tank with Melafix to help prevent any of the wounds left behind from the Ick from becoming infected. About 20 minutes after doing it I...

Mollies can be nippy, but yoyos don't usually take any guff from anyone. I agree. Mine will allow other fish to invade their space and hang out with them, but when they have had enough they are pretty good about letting the offending fish know it is time to move on. I absolutely love yo-yo loaches....

Nice video. I always have trouble figuring out the scale of fish in these videos. About how big are those fully reticulated yo-yo loaches?

Thanks! The water flow is fairly low ATM since I haven't popped for the big pumps I have been dreaming about installing. Currently the current flows backwards. That is why the Giant Vallisneria on the left is flowing from left to right towards the lone power head. Only one of the smaller Crystal Val...

You are right Martin. The second filter media would hardly ever clog. Worst case would be a lack of flow into the pumping chamber past the first matten. It would be possible, I suppose, to have that volume of water being punped into the tank without it being able to flow through the first matten. I ...

I have a school of hatchets each missing an eye...creepy. One of my female dwarf rainbows also was missing an eye (RIP). I think it is one striata. I bought a bunch of striata from one tank at the lfs. The eye eating loach was left left in a tank for about six months at a lfs. It didn't grow at all...

Real nice Martin. Can anybody think of a reason you couldn't setup Matten filters at both ends rather than just the one end? Flow issues/problems or something like that which I just can't visualize at the moment? This is a really sweet idea guys. I wonder if The Wife would be interested in me settin...
