Looking to rehome various loaches and other fish -Cardiff UK

Hello everyone, I'm looking to rehome my loaches and their non loach companions. It seems that my dreams of owning a suitably large enough tank for them all are not going to be coming true anytime soon (damn finances!) and I don't feel its fair to keep them in their current tank as they continue to ...

Can you help me with an i.d. please?

Hello guys, Wondering if you could help with some i.d.'s please. Sorry they are blurry. Haven't quite figured out the taking pictures of fish thing yet. The first is their tank The second is (I think) a synodontis? Is this correct? I inherited it with the tank. It's a grouchy fish and doggedly defen...

My Striata looks just like that and is spending all her time defending a cave beneath some bogwood in the tank. She is being really feisty. (I know this post is a year late but...) Did she spawn after all? I just added some pieces of clay next to the cave to make it more private and easier to defend...

Wow! I didn't expect answers so fast, and such detailed ones at that. Your helpfulness continues to amaze me. All great tips that I will begin researching further, especially the "python" - never heard of this. I'm in work at the moment but will get back to this thread tonight. I'm still stuck on th...

Your help in setting up a new 6x2x2 loachy tank

Hello all, I've had so much help from the forum members here (and tried to give some back when I could) and it has been greatly appreciated. My thanks to you all. I now have a big ask of you all and would be happy if you could help. I will be getting my 6ftx2ftx2ft aquarium in the next few weeks and...

Hi, that was my clown in the link above. Everyone on here was really helpful and I've followed their advice. I treated the tank with Octozin, do regular small water changes to keep the nitrates as low as possible, upped the temperature and increased surface splash, added aquarium salts for 6 weeks a...

Regarding those heart shaped fish you mentioned. I've read articles on this and seen pictures and yes, they do cut off the tails, it's atrocious and some are left with the bone sticking out.

A big thumbs up to you!

I'll order the necessary treatments from ebay tonight, monitor the fish and then treat as necessary.

Thanks again so much. I never realised how attached I'd be to these fish until I started researching them! It's led to most of my wages going towards a tank upgrade!

Ashleigh, you should charge for all this advice, you have been very helpful! Thanks very much. On a sidenote, regarding the clown with HITH. She seems to be responding to all your suggestions and the lesions are getting shallower. She still eats voraciously and is looking healthy. I'm a little worri...

maracyn & maracyn 2 - how much to use?

Hello all, Does anyone here use maracyn 1 and 2? I want to buy some from ebay so I have it for future use but am unsure how much to buy. The treatment comes in 8 or 24 sachet packs but I can't find guidance on how many sachets you use per volume of water, or how many courses of treatment are require...

I've just finished a course of Octozin for the Hex and am a bit reluctant to treat again until the fish has had a bit of breathing space. I'll keep checking and run a course of antibiotics then think about re-treating for the hex.

Thanks again everyone. I'll post another picture in a week or two.

Thanks for responding Feyna, interesting to see someone else is experiencing it as there seems to be little info on the web relating t clowns and hith.

Just did another water change and added a little crumbled multivitamin to the food.

Fingers crossed!
