Hi,
I looked at the river manifold. IMO I don't like the theme of it. But I will be adding power heads to provide aeration and direct high speed flow.

Zipper loach question.

Hi,
I have just set up a 18 gallon long tank so I can seperate my 3 very agressive zippers. I have set the tank up in a river type theme. Would this tank be okay for these fish?

Iam also wanting to turn it into a tank for the hillstream loaches.

So will tjhe tank be okay for what I am planning ...

If all else fails, you can run a rehome add in one of your local papers. The nice thing about saying you are "rehoming" as opposed to selling is that you can be choosy about who you let them go home with. Sorry my previous advice wasn't more useful.

I have seen people rehome their fish on Craiglist before. (the link to craigslist New Zealand http://geo.craigslist.org/iso/nz ) Although the site I use is for the Washington DC metro area which gets lots of activity. It doesn't look like there is too much activity on the NZ pets section.

I have both guentheri and triangularis and have not had any serious problems with them. They do chase each other around some and will occasionally chase the rainbows in the tank, but that's it.
It looks as if there are plenty of hiding places in that tank so I haven't a clue as to why you would be ...

I can turn the currant up more but the rest of the fish can't swim very well in it. And the Plants don't live.

So I cam stuck. I can return the fish. I cant set up a spare tank. So what to do?

So these Mesonoemacheilus guentheri, need a more Hill-stream type tank.

And Accordingly they are suppose to be less territorial than other types of it's species, right?

So what is up with mine. Why where they killing fish fast and hard??

I wonder if this is a case of mistaken identity? They could be the Acanthocobitis rubidipinnis , these can be nasty Loaches.
