Maybe they are just keeping an eye on who is buying the stuff because some drug dealers are mixing it with cocaine. http://www.straight.com/article-177734/users-get-tests-bad-coke That seems like a pretty isolated case, though. There has to be cheaper things that they can cut their coke with. I rem...

Smellafix (will make your house stink like Vick's vapor rub) is a natural remedy. Some like it, some don't. I would be more inclined to treat using a real medication, especially since you've lost several fish. With some medications you can double up at the same time. The PraziPro medication for flat...

jwyfk- you are having that creepy TDS issue also. Do you think it could of been the TDS issue in combination with the levamisole that upset your clown loaches? Or perhaps the HCL reacted to something in the water column? I guess this is why such treatments should always be done in a quarantine tank...

malia, I think I dealt with the same supplier you did. Did the Levamisole arrive in pre-measured packets labeled 5 grams per 100 gallons? He insisted that I use this high dosage, otherwise the worms wouldn't be killed. My poor Clown Loaches had the same reaction, and were shedding huge clumps of sli...

I can't be 100% certain of anything, because the biting happens, then the fish swim away. What would a bite mark from a Striata look like? The marks are little pits. It's strange. Usually when fish nip at each other, they go after the fins. This guy stalks them from behind, then goes for the side. I...

Bloodthirsty Botia Striata?
I made a post back in October, because my Clown Loaches looked like they were being attacked by a parasite. Last night I'm pretty certain I found the parasite...one of my Striatas. I had 3 tiny Striatas, then added 3 more, but 2 are much larger than the rest of them. I witnessed one of these guys sn...

I look forward to trying Krill and Mysis. Thank you both! Graeme, I envy where you live! I'd go catch my own Rainbowfish! :D Martin, that looks like the ultimate sacrifice to make for your loaches. I don't think I'd ever want to use my kitchen again. Maybe this would be a good way for me to lose wei...

Emma, I've never thought of trying frozen krill. Are they able to eat them, shell and all? Also, I'm currently feeding freeze dried mysis that I rehydrate with vitamins and garlic. Do you think it would be beneficial to give frozen mysis a try? One more thing...I'm curious why you don't have frozen ...

Sometimes we have no choice but to buy fish from the big chain stores. There are 2 Petco stores near my home, and the employees are decent at one, but not the other. Six of my clowns came from a Petco, because most of the smaller pet stores went out of business. Pay attention to the health of the fi...
