Re: Baby Kubotais in BIG tank?

I snagged 6 Kubotai from Lotsoffish on Aquabid I did, too! :D I bought 10 Darios, 6 Rostrata, and 6 Kubotai from Lotsoffish. I just received the Kubotai and 4 extra Darios yesterday. I can't believe I actually spent $10-$20 each for Kubotai from Petsmart in the past. Anyway, to answer your question...

I agree with Jim Powers, Hikari bloodworms are the best. If your pet store sells it this way, don't buy the little cubes, buy the large flat pack. The worms are always bright red and perfect, unlike other brands that may be darker or have white areas. I suppose I should use tank water, but thawing t...

That´s normal for elder clown loaches. 3 of mine 23 clown has already started developing this splitted black belt. Marcos, from what I've seen, all of your clown loaches still have great color. All of the really big clowns I've seen lose most of their color, like the ones above. Does this occur aft...

What an awesome collection! I also like how that algae looks, just as long as you can control it. It kind of reminds me of the stuff that grew on Stephen King in Creepshow. Our local fish store has tiny sidthimunkis for $20, and I thought that the price was steep. They're neat fish, though. I'd like...

That's a beautiful fish! I just bought some younger Rostratas, and they are more silvery in appearance, instead of golden, but the markings are similar.

Thanks, I also love the Striatas! It looks like they have red lipstick, lol. qumqats, the fish I bought are definitely Kubotai babies. As I mentioned in the previous post, both fish were identical when I bought them. One fish acclimated and developed more quickly, and the other one hid most of the t...

I picked up a couple of the baby Kubotais at Petsmart, because I've never seen them this young. Although I already have 6 "teenage" Kubotais, none of them are this perfectly black and white. It will be interesting to watch them transform. One of them already changed practically overnight from black ...

Beautiful fish! I can't seem to find them anywhere, and I guess I can't have every species. I see a few white spots on the second fish. Did you notice that?

Hey, that's a great idea! I'm sure Lowe's or Home Depot sells them. I currently use a PUR faucet mounted filter for drinking water, and those cartriges aren't exactly great anymore. Good point, I'll keep an eye out, thanks!

Thanks, chefkieth. I was just curious if too much heat would damage the unit. In the link you gave, it said something about receiving and exemption from high TDS levels due to drought. Interesting. Diana, I had one of those tap water mounted deionizers from Aquarium Pharmaceuticals, and I stopped us...
