Re: Sidthimunkis biting my Rainbows

It's very frustrating and I plan to keep an eye on the situation before I make a final decision. Have you seen this aggression in Sids yourself? I'm surprised no one else mentioned their experience.

Sidthimunkis biting my Rainbows

This past month I decided to sell my clown loaches, some of which were with me for 20 years. They were so peaceful and like members of the family, but they needed to be in a tank bigger than my 120 gallon. I've always liked Sidthimunkis and decided to purchase a school of 12. I thought things were g...

Great pictures, bslindgren!

I think these fish are very curious and stealthy. They always come to the front of the tank to check me out. I will definitely miss them.

Thanks, Mick. I got rid of all but one male and one female Lacustris, because there was too much fighting. I had a 55 gallon with Herbertaxelrodis and Lacustris that I combined with my Boesmanis in a separate 120 gallon tank. Once I put plants in, they beat each other up to the point where they were...

Sorry, I didn't mean to thread jack with pictures of my old tank, but my intention was to show LeStat what Boesmani Rainbows would look like with his clowns.

Harlequin Rasboras are really colorful when they mature.

This is my old 75 with a large school of Boesmani Rainbows and a few Praecox during the day time and night time. I wish I had taken a photo when the sun was shining directly on the tank, they can be stunning. Don't get me wrong, Congos are beautiful, but having owned both, I prefer rainbows. http://...

Beautiful, healthy fish! How many do you have in there? Congo Tetras and Rainbowfish go very well together. I've owned both, and when they spawn, the loaches really enjoy the eggs. It's a great time to watch your tank, because the males are putting on a color show, and all the other fish go crazy ov...

Thanks for the nice comments, I appreciate it! These fish eat better than I do, but it's really fun to watch them enjoy something completely foreign to them. santos, Yes, that was Family Guy, LOL. I'm surprised it picked up that much of the sound, but it wasn't intentional. It is funny to hear Stewi...

First time eating shrimp video

This is the first time these guys have seen shrimp. It was filmed this evening with my old 5.1 MP digital camera, so the quality isn't that great, and the batteries died. I should've moved the light strip up front, and the fake plants are too short, because they're from my old tank, and bent from th...

That's really sad, but you gave him a good life. I'd also like to see pictures of your aquarium, if possible.

Striatas are cute. :( I've owned a couple of them in the past, and they were fine. It would be difficult to find out which individuals are doing this, although I have identified one of them. I managed to get a picture of the same Clown. The wounds are healed, but for some reason the black areas have...

Less than a week after removing the 6 Botia Striata, these marks on my Clown Loaches went away. I'll try to get a picture of the same fish. Strange. I guess some Striatas like eyeballs and Clown Loach skin. :? Here's someone else who had the same problem: http://aquaweb.pair.com/forums/archives/loac...

I haven't given up on them yet, either. This is just a test to see if the clowns heal with the Striatas removed. It's a lose/lose situation no matter what happens.

bslindgren, that's such a shame, because Striatas are cool looking fish. After reading this post, I was motivated to completely tear down my 120 gallon tank and remove all 6 Striatas to a quarantine tank. You had posted in my previous thread concerning the suspicious looking marks on my clowns: http...

I'm really sorry to hear about your loaches. Sometimes it's good to take a break if you're having bad luck with a certain kind of fish. Maybe now would be a good time to create a more natural looking aquarium and get rid of the blue gravel and rock that Keith was talking about. Get some driftwood th...
