Specimens were collected from a bog inside the Buxa Tiger Reserve, Jalpaiguri District, northern West Bengal. The same bog also holds the population of Channa sp 'Assam' known as Lalcheng. The nearest big rivers are the Sankosh and the Jorai.

No unfortunately. I have only kept specimens from the south. But I will try to find out more about these.

In case it helps, specimens for the trade are currently collected from the Ichamati.

Mesonemacheilus herrei was my initial guess but I have received opinions that it could be Schistura semiarmatus .
