My 1st dojo would hide for months in the gravel. I started calling him Kitty cause I always thought his little head sticking out with just his eyes and whiskers showing looked like a kittens face lol. Anyway after I listened to you guys and got him some mates he rarely if ever hides in the gravel now.

Red Tail Shark

I just wanted to say that pet stores and other pet fish suppliers should put more of a warning on these guys. I, unknowing of what they become, bought one for my loach tank. Now I am the type of person that researches what I put in my tank before I add new kinds of fish. However these loach I did no...

Do not recall how big the spot was though I am sure it was there. I do not know where the guppy was raised but for the last 6 months she was in my 100g tank.

What is bloat/dropsy? Is it contagious? Could I have stopped it? She was one of my 3 oldest guppies. I only had her for maybe 6 months.

To pregnant guppy?

When I left for work today I was hoping to get home in enough time to net my VERY pregnant guppy and get her into the breeding tank that I picked up on my way home. However when I got home she was dead. Was she to pregnant?

How big are your loaches after having them for 5 years?
My 5 year old is about 4 inches or so including tail. Mind you I read and was told when I bought him that they do not grow in captivity. He was about 2-3 inches when I got him. So he has in fact grown some.

I have had one of my dojo loaches for 5 years and never seen that but who knows maybe I have and did not relize what it was. Also not to alarm you but my grandmother had a pleco once and she did not test the water and due to something in the water she touched him once and one whole side of his skin ...

Anyway its just like you all said the "old timer" as Starsplitter7 called him. Is ALL over the tank with the babies after him solo and in grps and when they tire out...

Some times it is funny watching the fish catchers cluelessly trying to net them. After watching my guy chasing one of the dojo's around I told him please do not chase them I can wait. I did not want my new babies stressed out any more then they were already going to be. He was annoyed at this but at...

New golden dojo's

So after being set straight by you guys I have just added 4 baby golden dojo's to my family. I say baby because they are about a quarter of the size of my 5 year old one. The store only had 4 so I of course got them all..much to the dismay of the fish catcher who aperently HATES catching these guys ...
