They click most often when they are feeding out of my hand, or when I don't have food and they're checking out my arm when I'm doing maintenance. mine do the exact same thing. they'll click for brine shrimp, or at my hand/arm when I'm replanting plants, and they feel I should be feeding them instea...

when I first got weathers years ago, I didn't know nearly enough about loach social habits, and only got two golds as well. however, they were very active, burrowing in the fine gravel and sand substrate, always interested in my hands when they were in the tank, and huge pigs at dinner time (the fav...

Re: F1 Loaches bred in captivity ???
is some reason for the speciality of bred in captivity or not ??? one thing I noticed about the tank of itty bitty farm raised loaches was that not a single one had skinny disease. There were all small, but had excellent color, healthy finnage, and especially, no signs of internal parasites whatsoe...

I buy filter media from Marine Depot; they have the full range of Eheim physical, biological and adsorptive media as well as filter pads (the 2028 pads are at the bottom of the page). With most canister filters, you can rinse and reuse the physical media for quite some time, but I have heard that th...

a few nights ago my largest yoyo pulled a medium sized ramshell snail out of its shell, and one of my gold dojos spent the next few hours carrying it around the tank and eating it. kinda gross, but he was one happy loach! I think I've seen all my loaches, except the horsefaces, go after pond snails ...

I bought my smallest clowns from a shop in SF when they were around 1/2-3/4" and was told they were farm raised in the states; the shop owner wasn't too keen to let up much more information about them. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3296/3286545359_d70d2e0400_b.jpg This photo was taken a few weeks a...

They will definitely not fit your setup. Clowns in a 55 won't cut it alone. They need a much larger tank. This i was expecting to hear immediately. I've had these clowns since they were little specks with eyeballs (just like my smaller ones, an LFS sold them when they were literally only a quarter ...

Hey, I'm in the south bay (san bruno specifically) and would be very interested in the trio. However, I have no experience with any of the schistura family and I am curious if they are right for my set up. I have a 55g with 3 clowns 3-5", and 2 around 1", 5 yo-yos all around 2-3", 4 pangios, 3 horse...
