Fish for sale

Unfortunately got to shut a tank down so some serious bargains available. You can see pictures on this other post but will need to scroll through to see the better pictures near the end. http://forums.loaches.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=23040&p=198423&hilit=leptobotia#p193815 6x Leptobotia elongata 2x L...

Re: A few pictures

Couple of full tank shots. Those with a better memory than mine will note this is not an 8 foot tank, it is 6 foot x 30" x 30" (1840mm x 755 x 755). Filtration is high to maintain the flow the loaches like: 1x Eheim 2080 1x Eheim 2260 1x Fluval FX5 1x Tetratec EX2400 2x Eheim 2252 Internal 1x 35W UV...

Re: A few pictures

Thank you. Managed to get some pictures of the Leptobotias. Did a little refurbishing today so will hopefully get some full tank shots in the next day or two. http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o669/Andrew_Parkes/Pelteobagrusfulvidraco-A_zps94d638a6.jpg http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o669/Andr...

Re: A few pictures

I guess as it has been a year it's time for some updates. Sorry to all the devout loach fans, I'm afraid there are few pictures amongst these that will interest you but hopefully this shows the tankmates I eventually settled on: 6x Leptobotia elongata 2x Leptobotia taeniops 1x Triplophysa siluroides...

Re: A few pictures

Thank you for the comments. There are two potential problems with this tank: 1. The Leptobotia elongata and Triplophysa can reach in excess of 60cm and will take anything small. 2. The temperature is maintained at 16 - 22C as these fish are from cool fast flowing waters in China, otherwise the Tinfo...

A few pictures

Apologies for the picture quality, not up to Emma's standards just yet! Tank is an 8x3x3 and fish are as follows: 6x Leptobotia elongata approx 6-7" (15-17cm) 2x Leptobotia taeniops approx 5" (12-13cm) 1x Triplophysa siluroides approx 6-7" (15-17cm) 3x Sarcocheilichthys sinensis sinensis approx 3" (...

If you can keep Anubias attached to bogwood near the surface of the tank and let it grow out of the water to some extent, the Clowns will leave alone and the Anubias does a lot better too. Plus it looks great growing just above and below the water surface if you don't mind dropping the water level j...

Any updates on this one? With Mopani wood like that I use stainless screws through some acrylic sheet and the acrylic gets laid on the bottom of the tank and then the gravel on top. You may get some white fungus growing from it as it absorbs the water, I clean it with a scrubbing brush just before w...

Strange. When I clean out my external filters I collect all the snails from inside the filters and drop them in the tank, they last about 30 seconds. That's usually about two good sized handfuls per filter!

Terrible pictures and a dilemma or two

Terrible pictures I know, apologies, don't appear to have the patience for aquarium photography that I once did. These were taken in the clear end of the tank just after lights out. The DVDR is in there to give an idea of size, it is a fraction under 5 inch diameter. Bear in mind that the glass is 1...

I'll get some pictures sorted over the weekend. Trouble is, it's already going to be hard to part with them so not too much interest please!

Hello - and an interesting Clown story

Hello people Just a quick background for you, have been keeping all manner of fish for many, many years now and various loaches are amongst those. I'm very lucky to have a family, including the kids, that are also interested in fish or at least very understanding. Consequently I have a good number o...
