is it not maybe they try to protect their food. because silver dollars like to feed in mid water

got 6 clowns loaches and 5 silver dollars.at feeding time 2 of my loaches almost atact the silver dollars and suck , nip , or bite them (not sure what they doing).some times on there eys to.
can any 1 explain this
