Had a breakthrough with my murderous loach, he seems to have calmed down a bit and I have given him some cucumber a couple times when I had some, I found that as long as I had extras like the cucumber, algae wafers and meat foods he was fine, if he goes more then a week where he's only eating flakes...

ty loach orgy, I was thinking him and the other fish were under fed anyway, they only only flakes daily, used to toss in algae bits every few days as well but I ran out of those... the cucumber seems like a good idea though and I really must get a hold of meat foods when I can next. He did have a fe...

Yeah I'm on the fishless cycle now, been told I should run fishless for 3weeks or something, is that right? Anyway I'll be monitoring levels and doing appropriate water changes and treatments to get it semi stable before I add fish :)

If you anywhere near the South East suburbs of Melbourne Australia, one of the best shops for fish, especially rare exotics and ones most local aquariums don't seem to keep, is Amazing Amazon, they have a massive selection of all ranges for fresh water tropical, Cichlid and marine fish. As far as lo...

Thanks for the reply Diana, very helpful, I'll see how well I go setting it back up, I'd imagine several water changes will be required fairly early once water is put back in to that tank :).

Ty for info, but I do frequent water changes and the loaches my big loach killed had been in that tank for over 4 weeks with no apparent issues and more lively then the day I bought them. I tend to keep my tank at a constant 24 degrees celcius, and I do have a small 2ft tank that I'm not using that ...

It's a standard 4'x1'x1.5' roughly 180litres (sorry don't know what that is in gallons, I'm Australian, lol), it's current filtration is an Eden 328 submersible power filter and an unde...
