Probably one of these, or a species very much like it.
Enjoy it! I have several, they get pretty big.
You wont see it often, as you noticed, this is because they like to spend their days under the gravel/sand.

Re: Vacation Feeders
I second that, the fish will be fine for 6 days.
Either that or have someone feed them ONCE during your leave, and give them a vacumm sealed portion to give your fish to prevent overfeeding.

Re: Tank background ideas
A friend of mine has glued small pebbles to the back of the tank. It looks great, especially because it is a river tank and al the stones have a healthy green colour now. Just a few points of warning: It took him 3 days to glue the stones, 6 tubes of aquarium grade sealant, and ages to harden the se...

Re: Tank background ideas
I used to have one of those Juwel backgrounds. The words: utter crap com to mind. They are very pricey, and dont last very long. The paint chips away quit easily, and gets eaten by anything suckermouthcatfishy. Also they are very thick, meaning you lose almost 5cm of you tank. No I can't say I would...

What an awesome looking fish you've got there.
It looks like it can be a bit nippy towards other fish, is that so?
I hope it one day reaches the fishstores here in Holland.

Re: Setting up a new Loach Tank, need advice.
After reading about your plan to use the minaralyzed substrate from the website you posted, I have a lot of doubt if this work with Loaches. It might work very well in creating a wonderful green aquarium setup, but do remember that most (if not all) Loaches like to dig or at least rummage in the sub...

Re: Mysterious Kuhlli deaths
I have not seen any fighting, that's not to say they never could. The fighting I do see is species specific. My gourami's are married (one day they make love, the other day they try to kill each other) My Histi's are snapping at each other every so ofter. I am saving up money to get my bigger tank u...

Re: Lighting options, help?
Not only does blue lighting make orange fish look weird, they also make your algae grow like crasy. I have a LED blue light tube only for the nights. I used to have it on for 3 hours after light out and 3 hours before lights on. But I have never seen that much algae grow so quickly. Then tuning the ...

Re: How can I subdue the lighting for my dojo loaches?
Because of water movement I can't use floating plants, they simply die at record pace. I use the following to sudue my lighting. Get some metallic tape, the stuff they use to seal up leaks in hot-air-piping. I don't know what it is called exactly but it looks and feels like thick aluminum foil with ...

Re: Mysterious Kuhlli deaths
I can not remember the active ingredïents of the meds. The fist med had to be repeated after a week, I did that. This med made the water white cloudy. (this med I have tried twice, at least 2 months apart) The other med had to be repeated as well, and also required the tank to be darkened, both of w...

Re: My First Fish Show!
I am not a big fan of events such as this. (I do see de positive side of it) As they do interfere with the fishes lives very much. Moving them here and there, having lots an lots of flash photography taken. Not having the well established tank they would like. However your tanks do look great for th...
