Re: Oldest Clown loach? about 30 years

That's very good. I lost the rest of mine from that wasting away disease. One by one. Never more than that. Made me think there was just one parasite that jump from a host after it died. This also included the modestas.

Re: Oldest Clown loach? about 30 years

Thanks. Totally spaced the convo. Seems maybe this is a duplicate thread lol. Anyway how many you have remaining? I'll try to post a pic of my old guy. Looks just normal, not a wrinkle. Only thing I see is its eyes have a slight whitish glaze over them.

Oldest Clown loach? about 30 years

First, I'm back! Haven't been able to log on since 2006 (edit: 2011) due to some strange security protocol if password is lost. Anyway tried again tonight and the reset PW worked so good to be back. Hope some of you still here?? So I've lost all my loaches except for one of the original ones I purch...

Re: Help with loach getting skinny

As of today, three weeks of prazi my most affected loach has been eating ironically earth worms only. Its two days in a row that she has eaten and the food is actually sticking to her. I will know for full recovery in a week. The striada, other affected fish is still real skinny. I have about 13 loa...

Re: Help with loach getting skinny

Praziquantel isn't very soluble in water, it's a real pain to get into solution. This probably explains some of the foam. Yea, I had to do three treatments. It does not make sense they sell it in this form for aquariums. Maybe the foam is caused by an ingredient in the solution to improve solubilit...

Re: Clown Loach odd behaviour

Lisa, i would definitely start with checking the water qual and confirm its the numbers that steph stated. Since its an established tank, look into every possible cause like Diana suggested. I am done with my third treatment of prazi pro and did a final Water change yesterday to remove the meds. The...

Re: Help with loach getting skinny

I just ordered some of that Prazipro after seeing that you had ordered it. Glad to hear that it seems to be helping. Really hope I get my order soon so I can start treatment! Did you notice if the treatment is like other parasite meds and requires more water aeration? Lisa, I don't think you will n...

Help with loach getting skinny

A coupple of my clown loaches have stopped eating for a few weeks and has lost weight considerably to the point where the belly is almost concave. Now, I know that this topic has been discussed extensively because i did a search and came up with quite a bit of information. The problem is that there ...

Re: My loaches go absolutely bonkers for this (added Pics!)

Most ofter its just a gentle bite. Maybe once or twice I got a bite that felt like a hard pinch on the inside of my palm. They were real hungry that time and the bite made me want to pull my hand out of the water. As far as their sucking power, the large one can pull stuff from between the upper par...
