Re: Anyone have any fall foliage pics?
I have no fall colour photos so far this year :( It has been too windy, rainy and cold this fall in my area ... However, early on a September Sunday morning on my way to a fish show and auction, I took this photo: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c258/zenins/Misc%202011/IMG_8307.jpg Not really fall...

Re: Loach Count
I want people to keep them, so they love them, will learn how to keep them properly, and keep them out of the African cichlid tanks as snail contraol. Education is key. :) Agreed :) I have convinced more people to keep loaches, I even auction of a bag of three after my presentation, with proceeds g...

Re: Size tank for dojo loaches
I have two 15cm ( 6 inch ) dojos in a 20 gallon tank along with some goldfish.
There is no heater, just room temperature.
The dojos seem happy, they are out all the time

Re: Loach Count
I am working on loaches being more popular. People think they are aggressive. I am trying to work through that myth. I think since most people keep them with cichlids. No wonder they are aggressive. The club has mostly cichlids, livebearers and catfish. I think it is because people like breeding fi...

Re: witch is best sand or gravel ?
But you have to be careful adding water to the tank, so the sand doesn't get sucked into the filter, and cause the impeller to be damaged. Good point, I usually have a sponge slipped over the filter intake as a pre-filter to make sure sand does not get sucked into the filter/impeller ... spo...

Re: Loach Count
Someday, I will count my loaches  Anyways, I have one Histrionica loach, I have never seen them in the local fish stores. When ever I put it in a show, most people think it is a Yoyo loach, but then I have to point out the differences in pattern on the tail, and dorsal, the thickness of the li...

Re: witch is best sand or gravel ?
I think pool filter sand is the best !
It is small, very clean ( minimal rinsing ) and inexpensive
The kuhli and horseface loaches keep the sand aerated
The corys and loaches have barbels around their mouths that can get damaged and red with coarse gravel ...
