What is the difference between Loaches and Gobies ?

Hey everyone, been a while since I have been here. I was wondering, generally, what is the difference between Loaches and Gobies ? I mean Rainbow Gobies (Stiphodon ornatus), Neon Goby (Stiphodon atropurpureus), and so on. I know that gobies generally have two dorsal fins, but what are other differen...

Yes please ... or a Japanese text version that can be converted by a translation program if the publisher does not want to provide a translated version ;)

Re: Sand

You can also try sand from a local stream or lake, just make sure you rinse it well. Some people boil it in fresh water to make sure no pathogens are transferred to the aquarium, but I have not had this problem yet. The other advantage of using shore sand is that is is rounded and will not harm the ...

Putting a sponge over the intake is a good suggestion,
make sure it is rinsed and squeezed out in a pail of tank water every time you do a partial water change :)

Re: Tank size for dwarf chain loach

I would suggest minimum 20 gallons, 30 would be best

Add a small powerhead about halfway on the end glass to give them some current to play in ;)

Yes, the Modesta or Orange Fin Blue Botia was first in the loach class, then the Histi then the Sid.

By the way, you can navigate to other photos by clicking on next or prev ;)

The Modesta was Best Egglayer in the Show as well ... pretty good considering most of the fish in the show were egg layers
