Sorry to leave you hanging Chris.. Lots of overtime and all. When I was thinking this through with Chris, I was thinking that since I am using an undergravel 50 micron filter pad, that the flow of water would be mostly though the sponge at the opposite end of the power heads.. The filter pad slowly ...

Caroline, In my experience, the "Salt water treatment" works best for treating ich.. I do not own Dojo's, but in the past, I have used this treatment successfully on my own loaches. I turn the temperature up to 82 degrees and add 1 tsp per gallon of aquarium salt to the tank. Do not raise the tank t...

To be honest, after dealing with some of the "Reputable" dealers out there, and recieving bags of half dead fish, emaciated fish, diseased fish, etc.. Ebay doesn't really surprise me.. Disappointing, true. I used to work with a guy who every time he got a bad rating when he sold something on Ebay, h...

Well, If you decide to get more Kubotai, I just saw them six days ago. "That Fish Place" in Lancaster PA had about 30 of them.. For sale for 9.99 each (Good price). This comapny usually does mail order and sometimes thier quality is sub par, but I actually live close enough that I drove out last wee...

Good God ,man! Unless there was a Hurriacane or Monsoon in Burma (Kubotai/Angelicus = Burmese Border Loach), 20 bucks each is a little more than inflated! I paid 9.99 each for mine about 8 months ago at a LFS in Pittsburgh.. I have seen them at "Wet Pets" and also at "All Oddball Aquatics" in the no...

Big Al's? What is that? A local chain or something? I've been looking for this loach for months and I'd really be willing to drive to Toronto if you saw them there.. Yes, I'm that interested! I'm looking to purchase a group of five for an established tank that has been built specifically to replicat...

I usually buy in clusters of five.. In a 55 I don't think you'd want any more than five anyways. Kubotai are community fish, and I've seen a difference in behavior in my tanks just between three and five in number. With three, they go out and adventure the tanks, but with five, they actually PLAY!! ...

No, I don't see much of the sunkenness that indicates true illness. So long as the loach eats some foods well, I would keep feeding that type of food to the tank until the one you're worried about fattens up some.. Colors get stronger and lighter on occasion. I have heard that the darker the loach, ...
