Breaking down my 180

I have approximately 40 Stiphodons and Syciopus jongklasii (5 of them). Shortly I will be looking for new home for them. Among Stiphodons I have 2 pairs of true S.percnopterogionus; 3 pairs of S.semoni; 3 Pairs of S. 'Rainbow' and several S.'sunspot' and some different S.'Rainbow' type. Right now I'...

Re: Which Stiphodon this might be?

So I bought those Stiphodons. Definitely from the 'Rainbow' group, but they are entirely different from what was available around here - they have a slightly bluish hue when 'at peace'. The pic from AquaBid is showing either stressed fish ("out of the bag"), or of a different Stiphopdon. As expected...

Re: Stiphodons feeding on Daphnia
Where do you find gobies in Florida? Do you have a really good LFS or are you ordering online? I never see gobies. I do have two wild caught sleeper gobies, and I do see Dragon, bumblebee and knight gobies on occasion and Peacock gudgeons. But the ones you are talking about ar...

Re: A planted tank without snails is this possible???
I would love to put real plants in the tank I am planning for kuhli loaches, but whenever I have tried to have a planted tank no matter how much I wash the plants beforehand the tank always ends up completely covered in snails!!
I suspect that there are at least 2 different sp. sold in this category, could be 3 or 4 ??? Here's a long thread on the subject. Re: Which Stiphodon this might be?
There is no definitive answer. They are what are often sold as "rainbow"sp.
Thanks, plaalye. The 'rainbows' I have are notorious for walking out of the tank , so I extended the inner rim of the tank to possibly avoid further losses. They also look quite different, but this c...

Which Stiphodon this might be?

On Aquabid there are Stiphodons for sale. They are advertised as "Elegant algae eating Gobies", suggesting that they are Stiphodon elegans?

Are they really - can anybody ascertain that, please.

Thanks!

Stiphodons feeding on Daphnia

For several weeks now I'm managing somehow to maintain a large culture of Daphnia moina and I noticed that my Gobies are very fond of them. A few days ago I obtained two pairs of S. percnopterogionus and four pairs of S.semoni. S.percnopterogionus are very small, hardly exceeding an inch in length, ...

This time it is Stiphodon 'Gold Spot'

That is how they are listed on Segrest Farms wholesale availability list. I ordered a dozen of them and I will receive them on Thursday afternoon. I hope they will look like the 'Sumatra red neon gobies' as pictured on Frank's Aquarium page. I checked Internet, and it seems that THIS IS IT!!! While ...
Wow! Where are you finding such cool fish in Florida? Sids are boisterous and sometimes annoying. Are they being aggressive (hurting your other fish or stressing) or are they being curious and annoying? I have Sids in a mixed tank, and they do sometimes bug the other fish, but...

Stiphodon sp.'Rainbow'

Thanks plaalye! So I have a dozen 'Rainbow' males .... I also have in my tank a half a dozen of Botia sidthimunki ( chain loach) and they are displaying a definitely agressive behaviour towards 'Rainbows', as well as towards Sicyopus jongclassi. My tank is a rather heavily planted one, and there are...
