Re: Hikari Re: the Nuclear Disaster and their Products

Great news! Like yours, our fishes love Hikari so it wouldn't make them happy if they stopped shipments

Re: Eel Stories

I can't help it, I just find eels creepy! They usually have beautiful markings (especially the tiretracks), but they are sooo creepy! :D

Re: Getting some skunks

Those are beautiful skunks and they look very healthy and are doing their loachy dance already. The Green Togers are very pretty too. Very nice catfish you have too. I love my cats. My skunks live in a community tank, but like I have said, they are a little different from most skunks. Keep us poste...

Re: Getting some skunks

Just to avoid confusion, Hanna is my girlfriend :D As she wrote, we now own skunks and green tigerbarbs! I fell in love with the skunks the very second I saw them, they're just so cute. We ended up with 10 of each (barbs/loaches), which seems like a good choice, since we don't have any fighting as o...

Re: Getting some skunks

Okay nice, so plants seems like an option! We'll see how the tank turns out, the fish will be arriving in about 2 weeks, so I have time to plan it all out.

Re: Getting some skunks

I haven't really thought about decor yet. We have a couple of nice roots to put in, and I've bought 2 coconuts to make caves from. I'll definately try to divide with rocks and roots and stuff like you said. The article here on Loaches says that they'll dig up plants, so I'm thinking about skipping p...

Getting some skunks

Hi all After looking into skunks (Y. Morleti) for a while, I finally placed an order at our LFS. They will, temporarily, live in a 120L tank with some tiger barbs until a tank in a better size (and price) pops up. I know that they are by no means friendly, that's why they'll only be housed with the ...

I think this is pretty common for loaches overall when introduced to a new tank. We've had this happening with clowns and yo-yos when first introduced, but they've stopped after about a week.

Beautiful tanks and fish you have there! Do you grow the algae on the rocks yourself or is it just by accident?

Adrian Thomas wrote:Very cool Jonas, does he take the food to the hole one piece at a time, or does he stash several bits of food and go back to eat it all later?

Cheers,

It varies, but it seems like he'll stash it most of the times, or he finishes the food extremely fast. I'd say it's 60/40.

100% of the times we don't see him, he's in that hole and often cuddling with the second and third largest clowns. Cute little fishies :D

I don't know how your tank is set up, but more water movement seems to make our loaches a lot more active.

That is absolutely one of the coolest things I have ever seen. I have never had any fish, much less a loach, do that. Mine steal one piece and go off to eat it, but I have never seen one go back for more. Amazing! Beautiful tank and nice fish. I loved seeing him steal the food from under the catfis...

Our biggest clown have found a new way of getting more food. I don't know if this is common or not, but it's pretty cute! His hiding spot is at the edge of the root were there's a hole, and during feeding he darts out and grabs a tablet in his mouth and darts back in to the root. This is repeted unt...

That angelfish didn't have a chance at getting a bite!
They won't let any fish come near their food, not even our balas (biggest one is about 12cm), or our red tail shark (also bigger than the clowns you saw in the clip).
