Re: Please Post the size and age of your oldest Yoyo..
I have five that are about 13 years old. The largest is about 7", the smallest about 4". I think I should probably get a couple of babies soon, just to liven things up, and to give them a little time to grow up while my shoal is aging gracefully.

Re: San Diego area -- moving, need help with loaches
I am in a similar situation, as I must leave the country for a month, and need someone to look after my fishes while I am away. Just wondering how you were able to find someone to care for your fish. I live near Humphrys San Diego . Please let me know if you have any advice, as I do not have anyone...

Re: Tank for YOYO loaches?
4-5"? They get bigger! I have a shoal of five yoyos in a 55g tank. They're about 13 years old, I think. The largest is definitely more towards the 7" range, but the smallest is still down at about 4". The others are in the 5-6" range. Also, mine eat pretty much every piece of greenery I put in that ...

I would like to do that, but don't want to burden him with the fish for an extended period of time. Trying to figure out how best to manage that. Hmm.

I'm with starsplitter, though I'd extend it to bottom-feeders in general. I adore loaches, catfish, gobies ...

Re: San Diego area -- moving, need help with loaches
As it turns out, one of my friends is willing to board them for us! I am so relieved. I would love any advice you folks have about moving them. My friend lives very nearby (a five minute drive), so I was wondering if it would be possible to move them into big 5g Home Depot style buckets, transport t...

San Diego area -- moving, need help with loaches
Hi everyone, It's been a long time since I've visited and posted, sorry. {: My husband and I are moving within the San Diego area, but we have a lot of work to do on our house before we can sell it. We're going to need to tent the house for termites, replace the carpet, redo the paint ... I'm lookin...

Re: the catfish -- wouldn't they take up the same general space as the loaches? Since my loaches are older, they tend to spend a lot of time down on the bottom of the tank. I absolutely love corydoras -- I have another tank full of cories and khulis, so I wouldn't object to more catfish on principle...

Good companions for older yoyos?
Heya folks, Man, I haven't been here in several years. The (new-to-me) forum looks very nice! On to the question! I have a 50-gallon tank that currently contains five very happy and healthy 9-year-old yoyo loaches, and a couple of candystripe plecos. None of the other tank members have been so long-...
