Re: Where to buy sinibotia
Ok thanks for the help mike! I'm keeping space open for sinibotia anyway, so I wouldn't order them.

Re: Where to buy sinibotia
I need them because they're my favorite fish of all time! Except robusta, I don't like robusta! That's why I wasn't sure! And sometimes you want something to be what you want it to be so badly it clouds your judgement.

Re: Where to buy sinibotia
Well, not b. histrionca for sure. I have "heard" of bluegrass...email them & see what they say. It's an awful time of year to ship fish to ME or any other cold weather place, keep that in mind even with heat packs. It's definitely not any of the sinibotia I want. TBH I went through the entire loach...

Re: Where to buy sinibotia
Hi, I'm still looking! This is listed as botia histrionica but it looks like sinibotia to me, probably robusta but maybe something else?

Information about breeding botia kubotai
I'd like to try to spawn angelicus loaches in the future. I have 5 in a 55 gallon with some other loaches. Does anyone have any information on instances of them spawning in captivity?

Re: Loach recommendation for a 55g
Botia Kubotia aka angelicus is my recommendation. Striata aka zebra would also be good. Angelicus are very laid back like the zebras but are larger and IMO more beautiful. A school of them makes a fantastic centerpiece.

Re: Kuhli Loach minimum tank size?
As a minimum? Depends on your definition of minimum. Of course an experienced fishkeeper could keep them in a 2 gallon jar with a good filter and frequent water changes. They wouldn't be very happy though. I would say a 10 gallon is a minimum but as always bigger is always better. I have had them fa...

Re: Where to buy sinibotia
In CT, I'd ask Uncle Ned in Millis, MA or the "puppy mill-ish" (my words!) place near W. Hartford, CT, I don't recall the name. Then there's always aquabid or wetspot aquatics for mail order (likely expensive shipping but may be worth it in the right weather season). Oops, that's not accurate eithe...

Re: Where to buy sinibotia
Ohhhhh wow that sig is half a decade old  I would be keeping the sinibotia in a low-end tropical (73 degrees) tank with heavy flow (700gph in a 55) and otocinclus and glowlight tetras as tankmates. I don't have any clowns anymore and all my botias are in a separate tank. Still looking for a pla...

Where to buy sinibotia
I was wondering if someone knows where I could buy any sinibotia species besides robusta.... they are my favorite group of fish but I can't find them for sale.

Re: My new loach tank, and an ID question
While I don't think fish will mind fake plants, I myself dislike them. Therefore I would have used real plants. But that is just my thought. I do think, however, your tank would look much calmer, and your fish would be much more happy with a dark background. The most easy way to accomplich this is ...

My new loach tank, and an ID question
Hello everyone! It's been ages since I posted on this board. I was active back when I was a kid, but after moving several times and then leaving for college I had no more loaches left, despite them being my favorite fish. In the past few months I got married and moved into a long-term apartment wher...

Picked up a Schistura!
Been a long time since I posted here. I remember posting a lot here when I was younger and probably being an annoying runt. Been a few years since I've kept fish because of the tank size restrictions at the university I attend but I moved off campus and now the fish tanks are going back up. My only ...

Finally got loaches again :D
Hey all, its been a while but I finally am back into fish, and more importantly loaches, and I have my 150 cycled and full of fish including yoyos, a kubotai? and a clown (soon to be more of those two). Good to remember why I love these fish so much; my yoyos are still young but they cavort around m...
