where do you find the silica mineral? does it create brown algae?

My developing understanding is that my stiphodons are males. The female seems to have a diamond body pattern. The male has a bar or rectangle body pattern.

I must re-read this topic.

Can someone help me decide if both my orange fins are males?

also, wouldn't they be territorial, or would they be friendly?

I read the differences. When I apply the information to my pair the longer male is the more vivid and definitely has the orange fins.

the 'female' sometimes I see orange when its fins are lowered, but I have seen many colours. most of the time they are gray. They play together like they are male ...

how can we tell they are both males?

the one i described as the male is the only one who has shown colours vibrantly. the 'female' is smaller and paler.

also they were probably not fed prior to their shipment from Asia to Canada. I will fatten them up!
