I'm glad she is looking better. I had a platy who got wedged in a small hole on a bridge ornament. I broke the ornament and she had the same white band around her and had damaged her dorsal fin trying to move. She made a full recovery, the white band took a while to go and get colour back.

If your clowns are around 2", as most LFS only have small ones, a group of 4 or 5 would be better, as long as you can upgrade within a year or so. They do get very big, but it takes years. Clowns prefer dim light, so your tank lights may just be too much. Try leaving them off for a few days and see if the clowns come out to play during the day. How many are in the group?

Don't panic and enjoy your new clowns!! As soon as you can, get a 4' tank, around 50/75g. 4' wide gives them room to grow for a few years, upgrading to 100g/6' wide tank eventually.
