Hated 2012. Every time a car pulled away the road was breaking up behind it, every plane took off from a runway that was crumbling all around it. It was ridiculous IMO. I also saw The Blind Side... loved it.

I suspect that Dave can find it on line somewhere, but your connection will be too slow. It's an NFB/French production... I'm guessing that the one thing Monsanto can do in its defense (and would do, after seeing the film) is to have its distribution made limited. Here it is... http://video.google....

Just finished watching Milk. Penn was amazing as usual. Powerful movie, sad that shit like that happened. Gotta be embarrassing for some to relive those days. Last week I saw W. Josh Brolin sure is playing some assholes these days. Great actor though, assuming he's not an asshole.

Just finished Gone Baby Gone. Great movie but really damned depressing in the end.

Just watched a Canadian film called Weirdsville. Now this won't appeal to many of you folks but I'd be willing to be that Morpheus/Rifleman would get a kick out of it. It's got it all, stoners, satanic dudes, midgets, rich guys with icicles piercing their skull. Did I mention the midgets? Hilarious ...

Recently I watched Dead Man Walking & Local Hero again. Pretty good movies. I also watched Life is Beautiful for the first time. Yikes, that's hard to take. Good movie IMO but hard to watch.

I watched Requiem for a Dream today. Wow. How anyone could start using drugs after watching that movie is beyond me. Pretty scary stuff.

It's just that the two "realities" seem totally disconnected to me. Is the answer that Donnie isn't mentally ill, but simply an adjunct to this time travel? IMO yes, that's the answer. Donnie is not mentally ill. His analyst tells him he was on a placebo medication. He seemed fine to me, just a lit...

I guess I was just not satisfied by the lack of clarity - was it mental illness or was it time travel and a sort of miraculous, Christ-like self sacrifice to save the ones he loved? That point is presumably left to interpretation, which I find weak. Or if it's both, what does the movie say about me...

Surprise endings very rarely work, IMO. They should complement the story, not provide an alternate explanation. I would argue that if you read/understood/agreed with the description of the story as I described it in my post then this was not a surprise ending nor an alternative explanation. The ent...

Obviously no one should read this post if they haven't watched Donnie Darko & plan to. Much of the movie is up to the interpretation of the viewer. There are no right answers and nothing has been left out. But it's vague enough that you can have a different interpretation and that will suffice for y...
