You're RIGHT! I think that's the meh factor for me....I miss the "puppies" so much even a year later..... these yoyos seem well....like just another fish. Dojo's all h ave their own personality, as you WELL know. I may even try to to return the yoyos. But losing dojo's to sickness or anything is a h...

Re: Brand new 55g tank about 1.5 mo old. fish are dying
Good news I guess. Tank is better. PH way down (7.2)! All other parameters spot on. I am having trouble bonding with the loaches. I had dojo's last time. This time I have yoyos. My old dojos were my babies and lay in my hands for pets and food and just to hang out. I do not like the yoyos but WOW th...

Brand new 55g tank about 1.5 mo old. fish are dying
We cycled using 5 rasporas and a couple small aquaplants (that take over lol). Growers~! We cycled til the whole thing was finished and ready for fishes. PH is high 8.2 Ammonia is now almost unreadable. Nitrites area as well. Nitrates are highest of the LOW bars on the handy colored test kit they pr...

Re: My dojo loach is stuck in an elephant.
That's a mighty long-suffering elephant. Kudos to him...and your loach for seeing the proper way to behave. Back into the water, loachie!
I enjoyed reading this little tale; and I'm glad your loach is really ok

Re: 55 Gallon; ALL FISH & STAND Must Go; NEPA
Hi Glenna! We are actually breaking it down and taking the tank/stand/deco with us. I have a probable home for the loaches (my main concern). The others we will have to take to a fish store about an hour away...ugh. or, theres' always the local pet store. I guess. The people interested in the loache...

Re: White fuzzy patches on Gold Loaches
Had the same thing in one dojo a couple of months back. It was a puncture wound that festered. She died a day after the fuzzyness was first visible. It was FAST. And horrific. I hope that you don't have the same thing, but I think it was what you mentioned (wound-produced bacteria) and not an illnes...

55 Gallon; ALL FISH & STAND Must Go; NEPA
Hi! Well we're leaving and heading back home; back to the west coast. We're in Northeast PA. We have a beautiful 55 gallon tank and many lovely fish. It all has to go. If worst came to worst, we could give the fish to a lfs; but I wouldn't want to do that with the loaches. The dojos (4) are complete...

Re: Was it infection or parasite?
Wow that's horrible. I'm sorry for your loss :(. I don't have a clue what it could be, but I know that the symptoms you describe have been around on this forum in the past year or so; somewhat frequently. Keep asking; there are some real experts on this forum, and they are so helpful with their know...

Re: Black smudges on Rainbow
Trapped her today; she's in a breeding trap with some nice plant cover in the main tank; we'll see I guess if she gets better when outside of range of the other fish. She's looking very poorly though; I hope she makes it.

Re: Help! my black kuhli has gone white
My kuhlies change color; they go pale, not to white, but very pale, so that you see the red along their sides very clearly, and bone white on their underbelly. I don't know what it means, but mine are healthy and active, regardless of their color du jur....

Black smudges on Rainbow
One of my rainbows has had black smudges on her body, off and on, since we got her. They are smallish; I thought that they were bruises, as she has always been rather the scapegoat of the group. Lately, though, they've seemed to multiply, she has a few of them on either side of her body. One in part...
