Re: Lost 4 loaches
yes, I had investigated heat and salt...I had fish in aquarium that could not tolerate too much heat though. The "Ich Attack" is not a medicine, per se, it is a mix of herbs containing naphthoquinone...it smelled and turned water brown but it worked for me. How are your loaches?

Re: anti-bacteria fish food
I have been doing good vacuuming and water changes. Is it possible that could be enough? One dojo is healed, but other still has split tail and notch missing from top fin. How long does split fin take to heal...or should I see an effect within a few days? They first had a round of Maracyn plus, now ...

Re: salt
I did move the other fish a week ago...they seem to be doing well, with no evidence of fin rot or other problem, fortunately. All fish did get one round of meds first before move. Now I am feeding the dojos medicated food...the one dojo that had just a pin size shred in tail has healed...the other, ...

Re: how to get loaches out
I got them out! the 3 largest came out when rock was being pulled from water (well way out of water already)...2 more came out in transporting bucket to next tank...then final 2 came out with some tilting and tapping as the rock was over the new tank. They have been doing a lot of loachy dancing but...

anti-bacteria fish food
Does anyone have experience using Jungle's anti-bacteria fish food for treating fin rot. I have been giving it to my golden dojos exclusively for 4 days now. They are eating it. Says to treat for 5-10 days as required, and that is all it says. There may be some progress, one still has signficant spl...

Re: Lost 4 loaches
I am sorry for your loss. I had good luck using Kordon's "Ich Attack", which is a 100% organic treatment...contains natural herbals containing Naphthoquinone.

Re: how to get loaches out
I know food bribing won't work...I plan to lift the rock quickly placing it into a bucket that has some of their aquarium water in it, if they did not seem out by this process, transfer cave to new tank-hold it over, hoping they will in short time swim out as suggested (thanks)...I really don't want...

Re: antibacterial treatment
thanks for info/links. I plan to finish with the Maracyn Plus treatment I started , one more dose on Friday...then do major water change...I did pick up some triple sulfa yesterday as I had been researching archives and saw that clip. It is only my 2 dojos that have a tail/ fin issue. The TDS is too...

Re: how to get loaches out
I really don't want to transfer the cave to new tank...for one thing, it is too big. In their current tank, this piece is essentially all there is...I have worried about someday a fish dying in there and well, having the problem of getting it out. Plus, I have set up new tank with plants and driftwo...

Re: antibacterial treatment
I am going with maracyn plus at full dose and also going to feed them Jungle's anti-bacteria fish food, which states can be used with external water treatments..however, I wonder if that would be too much...maybe I should do the food after the treatment?

antibacterial treatment
I have had a case of tail and fin rot on one now 2 dojos...wish to begin antibacterial treatment for tank. Had tried Maracyn Plus, but at half dose a couple weeks ago, did not have an impact. Asking advice as to what treatment to use...maracyn plus at the full recommended dose, maracyn and maracyn 2...

Re: salt
I noticed my other is developing a fray in his tail fin as well...I was hoping to get other fish into new tank so I could treat tank with dojos, but nitrate level still high/need 1 or more large water changes. Maybe those fish too have a bacterial infection, as a couple are hiding more then usual. W...
