Re: Histies with Sids?

Thanks, all! My girlfriend really liked the kubotai -- a fine fish I've never kept -- and I was thinking sids might actually be too small from the viewing area. So here's the new line-up: 4 B. kubotai 6 B. striata 10 bloodfin tetras We'll see what I can get for gobies, but I would also like: 5 Stiph...

Histies with Sids?

I have a 72 gal bow front that I would like to put botias in. Has anyone kept Sidthimunki with botias? I was thinking Histrionica or Striata.

Also, would you put any other livestock in this tank?

Thanks!

Fish ID: Syncrossus ???

What do you think that little guy in the middle is? I just picked him up with 3 others, all about 1.5 inches. They have identical markings, including the highly regular array of spots covering the body of the fish. This picture is quite pale; you can frequently see the body stripes more clearly and ...

Re: Coldwater loaches

A lot of the hillstreams seem to enjoy cooler water (60's), if you can provide them enough current.

Re: Mixing Different Loaches

Definitely go for the zebras - my biggest fish is a yoyo and she is 7 inches. Zebras are fun active fish and they max out at 4 in. I'd go with a group of 5. I have not kept them with kuhlis but I imagine this would be fine. Is it a 4' 40 gal? I'd say you could put a group of small dither fish in the...

Re: Gastromyzon missing an eye

Kunnen we even 'n beetje nederlands praten? 'Kan ik nergens in de VS en vrees ik dat ik alles vergeten ben. Ik heb oefenen hard nodig! Ik was uitwisseling student naar Gronignen in 2002-3.

Waar zit jij met je "loaches?" Hoe noem je die in het nederlands?

Re: Gastromyzon missing an eye

If he's doing well I would say leave them be. If you add a couple more fish his size, that should help spread out the aggression.

Re: New tank - fish now in residence

The fish look great in there! how'd you do the background? Is that the weir in the back left corner?

I'd say you have room in the tank yet for a never-ending quest for the perfect pieces of wood. :)

Wow, look at the colors on the goby in the last pic! Amazing! We still haven't seen those guys in the trade here in States. Odyssey, I am curious about your underwater camera setup. What are you using to take these wonderful pictures?

Snail-Eaters to Keep with Sids?

I have a 54 gallon corner bow, ultimately for y. sidtimunki. Current inhabitants are platies, endler's and baby BN plecos. Tank is at 78F, pH7.8, with smooth small gravel substrate, mangroves and java moss. I would like to add a snail eater. 'Thinking first of loaches, but open to others; especially...

Re: My New Sewellia

When they mate they will interlock their fins, like holding hands, and swim around the tank scattering eggs. 3 inches is too large for any s. lineolata I have seen before, though.
