Hillstreams... 2 boys and 2 girls?

I recently set up a Hillstream tank... I specifically have P. cheni. There are four, and I finally think I can for certain... possibly... say that there are 2 boys and 2 girls. LOL I saw one boy chasing the other around 'his' rock today. Actually, I think he thinks the whole tank is 'his'. :P The ot...

With Bettas, the size of the gravel isn't a big deal... it's more the smoothness. I use glass blobs, marbles and river stones in my tanks... or the smooth pebbles.
I have been considering sand in a couple of my tanks, especially those with 'barbelled' kids ;)

I forgot to mention one important thing before... live or silk plants are best for Bettas because plastic ones tend to be more rigid and can tear delicate long fins on the boys ;)

Good Luck with your Betta buds!

QueenDustBunny, I am always happy to answer betta questions :) I don't advise keeping males and females together. It can be done, obviously, but you are just asking for unwelcomed trouble IMO. With the case of siblings getting along, that's a whole 'nuther situation in and of itself. And when you pi...

I really don't see loaches getting along that great with a Betta. I have both, and I breed Bettas... both long finnage (Halfmoon, Crowntail, Doubletail) and the Plakad, (or Plakat, ie. short finnage). My loaches have either severely harassed my bettas or they've been severely harassed by my bettas.....

thank you both, so much :D

I read a little further in the index, and I am now in the process of figuring out where to put another large tank for the YoYo kids, or which currently inhabited large tank they could possibly go into

Thanks! :) They are in a QT for now... it's a 20gL. I don't bring new fish into my fish room and just plop them into a tank cuz I breed fish... and I can't afford to bring in illness, disease, etc. Now, that I know what I have with the loach, I can pick up a few more at my LFS and make Yolanda happy...

NoOb with a question...

Hi Everyone! I am new to this forum and fairly new to loaches. I recently rescued a pitiful little guy or gal from a reptile breeder, along with 3 SAE's and a baby dalmation Molly girl. I was told the loach is a Kuhli, but she looks more like a B. rostrata or a B. lohachata/almorhae. I've had her a ...

Hello Everyone!! I am brand new to these forums, but I wanted to add my $.02 on www.kensfish.com ...they do great business!! The prices are hard to beat and the customer service is great!! :) I recently 'rescued' a B. rostrata from a horrendously dirty and unkempt tank... now she or he is in a clean...
