Re: Is it ok to keep one weather loach in my freshwater aqua
Maureen Sorry to be so slow in replying! Your weather loach will probably survive just fine alone, but will definitely be much happier with at least one or two companions. They do spend time alone, but my 3 also have spells in which all of them are racing around or piling up together, they're certai...

Which States Ban Dojos?
Does anybody know for sure if any particular US states have banned sales of dojos? Someone on another forum mentioned that Oregon has banned dojo sales since they've become a problem in the western (milder climate) part of the state. But they never posted again, so I don't know if that's true or not...

Re: Pleco with Fin Rot?
Thanks, Ashleigh. Sorry about the delay getting back here, I'm working long hours & not much time to go online right now. I did use the Melafix, the pleco has not changed in either appearance or behavior. Quite active, good appetite, but still has shredded fins, mainly the tail and big topsail fin. ...

Re: Pleco with Fin Rot?
I've never had fin rot on ANY fish before, so when I was given this little guy I thought he was probably just shredding the fins himself by squeezing into too-small spaces. I was really hoping someone could tell me how much damage I should or should not be expecting to see on a longfinned pleco in f...

Pleco with Fin Rot?
I'm sure this has been mentioned in the past but I can't find specific info. I have a pleco with apparent fin rot. Here's the details: Type of fish that are affected Royal long-finned pleco * How long has the tank been set up for? one year * Size of tank (dimensions and volume). 48" x 21" x 13" (55...

Re: Spawning Misgurnus anguillicaudatus
Update: I haven't noticed any new babies, but then I didn't the first time around either. I did add a sponge over my filter intake, and have been very, very careful to check all plants carefully when I have to rearrange uprooted things during WCs. Meanwhile the original baby has gotten big enough to...

Re: Please help, my weather loach is sick!!
RuthieB, I'm no loach expert - that's why I joined this forum. But just had to comment on your situation. In the photo of your tank, it looks like your goldfish are fancy varieties. Once you sort out the current issue with your loach, they really need to be housed seperately from your tropical speci...

Re: Dinner Sewellia in 300 liter tank.
I enjoyed watching your fish, they seem to know they are the Masters and you are the Servant! Music fits nicely with their antics, too.

Re: Collecting Trip
Amazing list of Finds! I wish I had a fish club to go collecting with! Or better yet, that I lived someplace where aquatic life is active this early in the year!!

Re: Spawning Misgurnus anguillicaudatus
Thanks, NancyD and SgtMajWiggles. I'll keep you informed as time goes on. But just one more question: How long should the eggs take to hatch? I thought I had that info in my Ultimate Aquarium book, but can't find it now!

Spawning Misgurnus anguillicaudatus
Hi, I've joined the forum in hopes of learning more about my weather loaches. I have a pair of goldens, they are such characters! Ive read that they're hard to breed in captivity, but I apparently triggered them to spawn without meaning to. I thought the eggs had been eaten (they're in a 55g c...
