Re: Stream(ish) project
I was trying to show my other half this thread but none of the pictures on the other pages are loading for me. Have they been removed or is it just my connection?

Re: Zodiac (Batik) Loach is mean! Help!
I think your problem is entirely the size of the tank. You'd be amazed at the change in behaviour of fish when given larger dwellings. Move them up to a bigger tank as soon as possible and I'd expect your problem to disappear.

What lovely looking fish. Please do post more pictures of them and other species (not just loaches!) from your local area.

Re: Subdued Lighting for a non-planted tank...how?
You could switch off the fluorescent bulb and just fit a single strip of low-output LED. If it doesn't cover the full length of the tank it can create quite a cool effect where the fish can swim in and out of the light as they please.

Re: Just Got a (True) Siamensis
Mine are probably the most peaceable fish I've ever kept. I've seen more aggression in baby guppies. The standard advice is to get the upgrade before you get the fish - you never know what circumstances might arise that prevent you from getting the new tank. I'd probably succumb and get two tiny one...

Re: Just Got a (True) Siamensis
They aren't monsters yet, maybe a little over 4 inches? They live with my fiancée in London while I'm finishing up my PhD in York, so I'll try to get some pictures when I'm down visiting on the weekend.
Any pictures from franmorr1966?

Re: Just Got a (True) Siamensis
There are probably quite a few species that get lumped under 'true' SAE. What I have aren't flying foxes or garras of any description, so I'm happy to call them SAE! As mentioned above, they're possibly Crossocheilus atrilmes or C. langei . Definitely not C. reticulatus , anyway. I looked into the i...

Re: Just Got a (True) Siamensis
Chilly in here.
I have five SAE, bought as much for their appearance as their excellent algae-eating services. If you have space I'd recommend getting at least two more. They seem to like the company and are really beautiful when shoaling.
