Re: Homebase Sharp Sand for loaches?

Redshark1, my cryps don't root well in too fine substrate, that's why I'm avoiding it. ;)

Re: Stiphodon genus of the Goby

So, in nature Stiphodons usually live by themselves, without other species around?: In the river of Okinawa, a fish class of amphidromous accounts for most. Fishes that live in freshwater and brackish waters of Okinawa. http://island.geocities.jp/churamizu/sakanarisuto.html Probably fish species fr...

Re: Stiphodon genus of the Goby

Yeah that's quite stupid... So the sellers think, that red ones are males and females and the black-striped ones are different species... :?

Re: Stiphodon genus of the Goby

do you keep more than one species of Stiphodon in one tank? What is the ratio of males - females? How often do you do the water change? And finally, does enyone keep Stiphodons with Rhionogobiuses? Hi! The male female ratios of sold Stiphodon are different by a species. But only my feeling, the imp...

Re: Stiphodon genus of the Goby

Thanks for the fast reply Tyrano34 :) It's very hard question... I was thinking about recreating the biotop, but also I want to add as much hiding places as possible. I don't want to put goldfish in the tank as I found them very messy. But if I'll struglle with growing algae, I'll use gold fish's ''...

Thanks for the information Tyrano34 :)

In this case I'll not add Rhinogobius. Do know what fish can live with Stiphodons in peace?

Re: Stiphodon genus of the Goby

Hello everyone! What an interesting thread! Your fish are stunning! :D A few months ago I bought 3 Stiphodon sp. ''Rainbow'' to my 180l planted aquarium and I'm so amazed with their beauty and behaviour, I want to turn my tank into Stiphodon and Rhinogobius' kingdom  Oddesey, do you keep more t...
